PECKA CASTLE (Hrad Pecka) The Castle Pecka, has been the dominating landmark of our town ever since it was founded in 1322. The most famous owner of the castle was Kryštof Harant of Polžic and Bezdružic. The castle is well worth a visit. It is open from April until October for individual or group visits. Truly unique dinner parties can be arranged at the castle.
Pecka Czech Paradise
Pecka square – is a beautiful and peaceful small square with two local pubs and a few shops. You can get a nice view of the castle Pecka from here. At the bottom of the square, you can find another dominant building in the town, the local church.
Pecka town – culture and other attractions
Pecka town is mainly famous for its great castle Pecka, where you can appreciate beautiful views of the local scenery. There are guided tours and refreshment kiosks and the castle will even organise your wedding should you wish. Another favourite place that many people like to visit is Disco Phoenix Pecka – a dance club, where they play popular Czech music as well as music from all around the world. If you get hungry, you can refresh yourself in two local pubs, who serve traditional Czech meals and beer.
Pecka – Leisure centre – outside swimming pool, volleyball, tennis
Spacious outside swimming pool with tennis and volleyball courts which were refurbished in 2003 with financial support from the Europe Union. This leisure centre is very popular and gives you the opportunity to relax and have fun in a beautiful outside area. You can buy refreshments and beer in the Leisure centre’s kiosk.
Pecka town, Czech Highest Mountains – Krkonose, skiing
We usually have lots of snow in Pecka, therefore it is an ideal place for winter sports. There is a small ski centre only 70 metres from our Penzion. You can find another and bigger ski centre atop the Zvicina hill. There is also plenty of opportunity for cross-country skiing and you can also appreciate beautiful walks through the countryside surveying the glorious nature.
